Feedlot

The Center feedlot conducts basic and applied beef cattle teaching and research that benefits beef cattle producers and ultimately the consumers of beef.  Many of the research projects investigate methods to increase productivity of Michigan feedlots.  The facility is used for the demonstration of technology and proper animal care techniques for Institute of Agricultural Technology, undergraduate, graduate, and veterinary medicine students.  Ag Tech students are exposed to the daily routine involved in the management of a commercial size feedlot through the clerkship program and a number of undergraduates can participate in a part-time employment program.
