Cattle housing (all pens completely covered):
  • 31 pens (14 x 39 ft)
  • 40 slotted-floor confinement pens (10 x 16 ft)
  • 4 pens with Calan gate individual feed access (10 x 40 ft)
  • 16 metabolism/physiology stalls
Feed storage:
  • 3 Harvestore silos (1-250 ton capacity; 2 w/drying floors)
  • 5 bunker silos (1-1200 ton; 4-150 ton capacity)
  • 4 supplement bins (1-6 ton; 3-2 ton capacity)
  • Hay & straw storage barn (50 x 200 ft)
Handling facility:
  • Silencer working chute, digital scales, RFID-enabled

The original feedlot facility was constructed in 1964 and was made possible from legislative appropriations and donations from the Michigan agricultural industry.
